We were upset Wednesday when we saw that someone had disturbed our writing spider's web. The spider we had been watching was no where to be found. Fortunately it reappeared yesterday afternoon in a tall weed beside the window containing the remnants of its web.
After lunch we went out to take a better look and discovered some exciting things. Not only did we see one spider, we found three! And one of them has an egg sac!
While we were looking around, we spied this cool caterpillar. If anyone knows what it is or what type of butterfly it will become, please let us know!
Postscript: Christian's Mimi saw our blog post and identified the caterpillar as a Saddleback caterpillar. According to Google it is a bad guy! It can cause a rash and other bad reactions if you are unlucky enough to touch it. Since it was in our play yard which hundreds of children go through each day, Mr. Moree helped me dispose of it after school.
