Want to see your five year old get REALLY excited? Show them these three simple things:
Yep. A blank sheet of paper. A clipboard. Markers. Oh! you have to suggest they write a note or draw something special for a friend in our class. THEN show them how they can deliver it to their friend's mailbox.
The children were so busy writing and drawing this morning! What enthusiasm. It was sweet to hear them tell one another thank you for the pictures. Too cute!
At the end of our day we talked about the BEST things that happened today. Here is a brief listing:
- Ice cream for the entire class (thank you Ida and family!)
- Playing on the big playground
- 2 recesses
- New reading tubs with books we can really read
- Fun in computer lab
I have to say my BEST thing is watching the children come together as a group of friends. Jada is our shoe tying friend. John is our friend who helps keep things tidy and chairs pushed in. Isaiah is our friend who hugs the friends who get hurt. Braden is our friend who loves to read with everyone. I could go on and on about the special, kind and helpful things the children do each day. For the past week many of the children go around the room as we sing our good-bye song and hug everyone. I LOVE THIS CLASS!
Have a great weekend.
